Morten Jentoft, born in Bergen 1956.
Jentoft is a journalist on NRK’s international news staff. He has many years’ experience as a correspondent in Moscow and Helsinki. Before he came to NRK Marienlyst, he worked at the NRK district office in Finnmark. Morten Jentoft is proficient in Russian, Finnish and Sámi – language skills that have been crucially important for him in his work as a writer of documentaries. He made his debut with the book Verkebyllen (The Abscess, 1995), in collaboration with Odd Isungset. Døden på Kola (Death on Kola, 2008) is Jentoft’s third publication from Gyldendal. He has earlier written De som dro østover (Those who went eastwards, 2001) and Mennesker ved en grense (People at a border, 2005). These last two have also been published in Russian.
