Welcoming speech
"Is democracy in the USA in crisis, and what does that mean for us?"
v/ Tove Bjørgaas
Under the leadership of President Trump, American society and the political system of the USA are being challenged in a way that we have never seen before. Why is this occurring, and what impact is it having on the country in the run-up to the presidential election in November 2020? What do these developments mean for our perception in Norway of what democracy and citizenship are?

"5 reasons for holding a slam in the classroom"
v/ Martine Johansen
We discuss how SLAM! can help pupils to find their own voices, and to communicate their opinions, experiences and stories. We address how SLAM! makes pupils feel that they are being seen and listened to. We also examine how creative writing that is meant to be presented orally improves learning and a sense of accomplishment in pupils who have English as their second or third language.
